Local MP to Reward Students' Achievements

Nadhim Zahawi

Nadhim Zahawi will be acknowledging students’ achievements at the College’s annual awards ceremony at the Civic Hall in Stratford-upon-Avon.

Nadhim Zahawi, Member of Parliament for Stratford-upon-Avon, will present students with their awards, with Principal, Martin Penny, and Chair of Governors, Alan Richardson presiding over the event.

The ceremony is an annual event to celebrate the achievements of students for their performance, improvement, attitude and commitment during their time at the College. This year, over 60 students will be rewarded with a certificate and prize. As always, the event has attracted sponsorship from a variety of local organisations, who have also been invited to attend the ceremony.

The College’s Musical Theatre students will be providing entertainment during the interval with a selection of pieces from their much anticipated final major project, The Secret Garden. The students last performed at the Civic Hall in March with their outstanding production: Musicals ROCK! Music students will be providing music at the beginning of the ceremony.

Principal, Martin Penny, said of the ceremony: “This event is a marvellous opportunity for Stratford-upon-Avon to celebrate the success of the students from the College. The support from family and friends is tremendous and with the prizes sponsored and chosen by local organisations it adds an extra special element to the evening for our award winners.  We are also delighted that Nadhim Zahawi is able to join us for this special occasion to present the awards and speak about the opportunities that the College gives to so many people.”

The ceremony will take place at the Civic Hall, Stratford-upon-Avon on Friday 20th May at 5pm.
